Introducing: Engrish of the Week

I'm going to (try to) start having "Engrish of the Week" posts once a week where I share something from my personal Engrish collection.

(For those of you new to my blog and/or the term "Engrish" - read this post.)

The Post About My New Scale

I bought an analog scale for the bathroom today. I'm trying to lose weight and I thought it would be a good idea to have an accurate method of tracking my progress, rather than assuming my bread and butter diet is doing the trick.

There was an instruction sheet included in the box to explain how to set the scale to 0. Below the instructions, it says:

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

An occasional wiping with a soft cloth and mild soap will keep your scale attractive.

Do not use abrasive cleaners. Your scale does not require oiling or lubrication of any kind.

I have decided to leave the shrinkwrap on the scale. Partially so that I never have to wipe it down, but mostly so I will never be tempted to oil or lubricate it.

(**P.S.- Good news! I have lost 4lbs since January 6th; bread & butter can stay!**)

More Brotherly Love

Killian: "Mommy!"

Me: "Yes, Killian?"

Killian: "I share baby Finn"

Me: "Oh yeah?"

Killian: "I share baby Finn cookies!"

(This is when dropped the dish I was washing and ran out to the living room)

And this is what I saw:

Lessons I learned that night:

1) Killian is good at sharing

2) Killian is great at tattling on himself (thank goodness!)

3) I shouldn't leave a 4 month-old in the care of a 2 year-old while washing dishes (who knew?)

4) Finn likes chocolate cookies

Brotherly Love

Sometimes Killian is sweet with Finn. This is one of those times.





P.S.- I love Killian's little voice. My Mom calls it his "helium voice".

Finn's First Internet Video!

Jay surprised me this week with a Flip MinoHD digital video camera. We didn't have any video footage of Finn yet, so I was very excited to get the pocket-sized camera (and glad we got it before Christmas).

So what does this mean for you? You get to watch videos of our kids and other things that are probably only interesting to us! Muah-ha-ha.

A List of Things I Didn't Do Today:

• Take a shower


• Brush my hair


• Brush my teeth


• Change out of my pj's


• Step 1 foot outside of the house


• Drink anything other than 5 cans of Diet Dr. Pepper (now with cherry!)


• Not eat a plate of french fries for dinner, right out of our home deep fryer


• Stay calm & collected while 2 little feverish boys screamed their heads off


• Enjoy the napping strike, by said boys, that occurred


• Foresee Killian spitting his dose of Tylenol all over my arm instead of swallowing it


• Think it was funny when Finn peed right as I opened his diaper (for the 3rd time in 2 days) It's like getting hit by a prank flower that shoots water...except with pee

However, I DID complete 4 loads of laundry and watched an entire season of Family Guy...so I guess all is not lost.
